In Greene County district court Zakkariah Dylan Levi Boudewyn, 22, of Jefferson was sentenced June 3 after entering Alford pleas to charges of criminal mischief-second degree, operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent, and assault on a peace officer. In entering an Alford plea, a defendant does not admit committing a crime, but believes that given the facts in the county attorney’s information, a jury would find him guilty of the crime.
Boudewyn was sentenced to five years in prison on the criminal mischief charge. The prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation for three years. The minimum fine was suspended, but he must pay a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge and restitution of $1,575 to Sparky’s One Stop in Churdan. Boudewyn was sentenced to two years in prison on the charge of operating without owner’s consent. The prison term is concurrent to the first. It was also suspended and Boudewyn was placed on probation for two years. The minimum fine was suspended but he must pay a $125 LEI and $2,500 restitution to the owner of the vehicle. On the assault charge, he was sentenced to one year in prison, concurrent. That term was also suspended and Boudewyn was placed on probation for two years. The minimum fine was suspended.
Boudewyn was released on his own recognizance pending an opening at an appropriate residential correctional facility. When an opening becomes available, Boudewyn is to turn himself in at his probation officer’s discretion.

Cases were initiated in district court as follows: Brian Keith Dunlap, 39, of Perry, criminal mischief-second degree (three counts); burglary-third degree (three counts), and ongoing criminal conduct; and Brock Brent Stoner, 25, of Jefferson, operating while intoxicated (OWI)-first offense.
